Affirmation
2024 -

A series of photograms, a camereless process of creating images in the darkroom by placing objects on light-sensitive paper that is exposed with the enlarger light.   I use materials related to the history of LGBTQ2+ activism such as appropriated text, photos and news clippings, while incorporating physical interventions with material relating to a specific event and context. The sources of material juxtapose past moments of activism with current acts of discrimination and violence.  

Sex Garage, 1990

​On 15 July 1990, Montreal police violently raided an after-hour warehouse party known as Sex Garage, popular with the city's LGBTQ community.
